Unlike most consumer electronics, a computer isn't ready to use as soon as you plug it into the nearest power point and push the 'On' button.

There's a special installation procedure: making the emergency recovery disks, connecting your other components (eg. printer, Internet modem, router), re-installing or upgrading existing software, and transferring data (including email messages and Internet favourites/bookmarks) from your old machine.

There are various settings, such as security, screen display, sounds, that you might want to carry over - or modify - as well.

It's a job best left to an expert organisation like XYZ Support.
