I have to laugh at myself sometimes, when I say things like 'I'm going to write a program this afternoon, I've been looking forward to it all week!'. It is completely true. I really enjoy technical challenges. I distinctly remember writing my first program in early primary school, it was using the mathematical program 'Logo' (does anyone remember that?) where you give a string of instructions to a turtle to make it draw shapes on a page. I loved it!

But please don't think I'm a typical 'nerd' who taps and clicks in front of a computer for hours on end. Although I was good at maths and science in school, and then went on to study IT Business Systems and Programming at Uni, I'm very much a 'people person'.

I have the happy knack of being able to relate to people who don't have a natural aptitude for technology. After tutoring fellow students in maths as a teenager, I continued this in my professional career as well as teaching computer applications to home and small business users.

XYZ Support began when the word spread that I could program (particularly web-sites), and the business has been growing ever since!

Ollie Brooke

Web and Database Programming & SEO

Ollie arrived at XYZ Support in June 2010 and has had an amazing impact on our productivity. Not only does he know what he is doing in the coding arena, he is fast, and thinks outside the square.

Most of the 'funky' ideas for upgrades and funny elements to be added to sites come from Ollie's twisted Irish mind.

With a background in Computer Science, Ollie is also a well-known DJ and has developed a successful house music community online at his website: PureHouseMusic.net.

Charlee South

Trainee

Charlee started her traineeship with us in March 2011. Since then she increased her skill level and knowledge in leaps and bounds and discovered her inner nerd! She has fast tracked developing her web-coding skills and is already building some beautiful work with little assistance. She has recently been learning more about building interactive components.

Charlee has already become a valuable contributor to the business, her people and communication skills are excellent, so you will find her very helpful if you need assistance with your web-site.  

Mid Coast Connect

Work Placement team member

XYZ Support opperates as a host employer through Mid Coast Connect in the HSC Work placement program. We host a student once a week for 5 weeks and then a new student comes through.

We feel this is a great opportunity to meet aspiring IT professionals, and help them develop their skills. It also means we can give them an insght into their preferences (as the industry is so diverse) and show them another of the different types of work place out there.

This is great for them but also can be really good for us and for you our clients. If you have any computer work that is reasonably easy for us to teach but you may not have time or software for, we can train our our work placement students how to do it, and they can complete it for you free of charge!

Lisa Christie

Graphic Design

Lisa has a gift for all forms of graphic design, and has a flourishing business in Port Macquarie. XYZ Support is fortunate to have talent of Lisa's calibre on our team.

Lisa is responsible for the layout decisions for more than half the work we do at XYZ Support. She ensures that a client's branding remains consistent with current material and has so many fabulous ideas that she always succeeds in producing a concept our clients love.

Her design business Visual Edge - Simple Solutions in complex times recently won awards from Customer Care and Australian Home Businesses.
